There are people promoting #Invidious as a "privacy friendly" way to watch YouTube videos - in particular a way that doesn't send any data to Google.
That may or may not be correct, depending on configuration: By default, video data is downloaded from YouTube directly, and the instance needs to opt-in to act as a proxy.
In case you're operating an Invidious instance in a country under GDPR (or comparable) regulations, that might lead to further requirements on you, the operator (consent and all the fluff)

@patrick I got the feedback, that my contact with the Youtube video was not even counted with the surveillence software.
I would always try alternatives.
